The year 2009 is the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin birth. In commemoration, John Collier's 1883 portrait of Darwin, will travel to Cambridge University, UK were he spent his early academic life in Cambridge and returned often to solidify his theories.
Since this painting is at the genesis of this artwork, DiPaola has organized two exhibitions in Cambridge, UK and Cambridge MA, USA along with a bridging website. He hopes that this conceptual link to Darwin's Portrait, will draw parallels across the net and oceans to the new media living portrait of both Darwin's ideas of evolution and the expression of creativity through the machine.
